Fall outdoor party season and tailgating are here! This is a great time to enjoy this season with family and friends and the mild autumn weather. We think the front yard is an ideal place to enjoy the outdoors without needing to travel far. Here are some fun ideas to make your next party even more enjoyable.
You can make a DIY chalkboard to hang on your fence or house and play Pictionary. It's easy to make a chalkboard, and your children will enjoy drawing on it.
* Measure the area that you wish to paint. Mark it off or buy wooden boards and hang them. Two boards measuring 3x5 feet should be glued together. If you have small ones, set the chalkboard a few feet above the ground.
* Next, take a quart of chalkboard paint and paint your boards with two generous coats.
* Once the paint dries, you can play outdoor Pictionary.
* Tip: Add a border to the chalkboard for style. You can also screw in a hook that will hold a bucket of chalk.
This is a great activity that will engage the whole family. This game is best played at night because you can see the pins clearly when they are lit up. It's also cooler outside!
* You will first need six six-ounce water bottles, six glow sticks, and a large tennis ball.
* To activate the glow sticks, "break" them by pressing the button and then drop one into each bottle. Be sure to remove the labels from the water bottles.
* A patio or flat surface is best for setting up a bowling alley. You can arrange the "pins" in a triangle and use the large tennis balls as your bowling ball.
This activity is great if you have a tree in the yard. The goal of the game? Eat the most donuts. This fun game is open to everyone!
* First, purchase a dozen donuts. Then, tie some string to them.
* Next, tie the string at the end to a branch. All donuts should be hung at different heights. You must be able to reach the donuts!
This timeless game is a favorite among families. It's easy to make, and you can customize your board as you wish. This game can be played by adults and older children. However, younger children can move the boards closer together.
* Cut two 24x48 inches boards. Place it nine inches above the top. Angle it at 12 degrees.
* Position the boards 27 feet apart or closer if your children are younger.
